  • Pioneer CC Vs Wanderers CC – 10:30am

When Wanderers take on Pioneer in Buddo, a win for either team means totally different things. While Wanderers seek to keep up with leaders Jinja SS, Pioneer will be looking at surviving relegation.

A win for Pioneer would mean Tornado Bee will be playing next season in Division 2 but a loss keeps Tornado Bee with a mathematical chance of staying in the top flight.

Pioneer defeated fellow strugglers Tornado B last weekend to keep alive their chances of staying afloat and if they are victors on Saturday they will have guaranteed their stay in the top flight. With a single game left Tornado B wouldn’t be able to overhaul Pioneer’s points even if they won their final game.

Sam Walusimbi’s Wanderers have won games on the smallest budget of all the top flight teams. Janet Mbabazi and Consy Aweko are the only pedigree players in the Wanderers team but they have been supported by fringe players Hope Wanichan and Gloria Adubu and now find themselves with a chance of winning the title.

Wanderers Captain Janet Mbabazi has led from front and has been pivotal in the two games Wanderers has won, and if they can win their last 2 games (against Pioneer and Olila) convincingly, they will be slogging it out with Jinja SS for the title.

There are 4 teams with a chance of winning the league with favorites Jinja SS on top of the table but KICC, Olila High and Wanderers are all not far off. Jinja SS has a played a game more than than the others.

Jinja SS are favorites because they have played all their title rivals and they play bottom placed Tornado Bee in their final game.
