New Vision Football Club will have to wait for another 365 days if their dream of lifting the prestigious Uganda Cup is anything to go by.
The sad tales come in the aftermath of a disappointing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Kikyusa Cream, a division three club in Buganda Region.
Kikyusa Cream will thus take on Kiyinda Boys who eliminated Busiro United 4-3 in yet another preliminary round encounter.
In the other matches, Kiboga Young humiliated Shooting Stars 4-1 in Kiboga, Ebenezar found easy work against Zirobwe, winning 3-2 at the Tanda playground in Entebbe and Nyendo Diamonds Elite club smiled 2-1 over Kampala University at the Kasana playground in Masaka.
Meanwhile, Entebbe awaits to progress via a board room decision after they traveled to Lufuka and the hosts did not show up.
Nangabo Green Valley defeated Lugazi Nabugabo 4-1 in the other match.
Justus Mugisha’s funded Standard High Zana needed a tense 4-1 post match penalty victory against Kasaali Doves to progress. Normal time had ended goal-less.
TY Lugazi registered the biggest victory, out muscling Lukaya Town Council 6-1 in Lugazi.
Round two matches will be played on Wednesday, 22nd November 2017.
