Every time that Uganda traditional football giants Sports Club Villa Jogoo and Express lock horns, it has always been more of a mere match.
There is life, passion, overwhelming joy and at most agony when Express meets Sports Club Villa Jogoo.
These two clubs do not see eye to eye. There is a big rivalry that dates as far back as the first day of birth for either clubs.
A rivalry that emits the loudest volume, one that moves mountains and blows the hottest steam miles ahead than an active volanco.
On Friday, 24th November 2017, once again, Sports Club Villa Jogoo encounters Express for the umpteenth time in the rich history of this land locked country at the Masaka Recreational Stadium.
The fixture is a re-scheduled arrangement by the Uganda Premier league secretariat.

Contrasting form:
The hosts come to the fixture with three successive victories against BUL, Bright Stars and lately Onduparaka.
On the contrast, Express has struggled of late to attain even a point home or away.
After losing painfully 2-1 at home to Onduparaka, the Red Eagles fell 1-0 on the road to Jinja side, BUL and shamefully 2-1 at home against to lowly new comers Masavu.
The Masavu loss precipitated the resignation albeit sacking of the coaching staff led by Douglas Bamweyana, alongside club legend Edward Kalungi.
Ironically, they won the subsequent match away to Proline, 2-1 coming from a goal down with another set of club legends Samuel Kawalya and Hassan ‘Owemamba’ Mubiru.
The next two days witnessed a renaissance at the Mayuuni club. In came former SC Villa Jogoo coach Shafik Bisaso.
In his immediate game under charge, Bisaso fell 1-0 to league leaders Police at the once intimidating Muteesa II Wankulukuku stadium.
Such is the contrast in the form book for the two clubs.
Current form aside, the match between the two clubs always lives to the true hype and billing.
They both have egos to settle and Masaka will be the place to be on Friday.
Current SC Villa Jogoo head coach Wasswa Bbosa once served as a loyal guard at Express as a deep lying midfielder and later head coach.
He understands the dynamics, politics and importance of this match.
Bbosa notes with caution;
On Friday, I will be at work. I need the three points. The players and the rest of the technical team understand this mission.
The fans are all behind us. We need to best Express in Masaka
His opposite number Bisaso also warns;
We travel to Masaka for football business. There are small details that separate clubs and players in Uganda.
We are ready to battle and fight for the Red Eagles’ pride.
Anticipated Key Battles:
Daniel ‘Muzeei’ Sserunkuma is Express’ leading goal scorer with 5 goals. He faces a sharp back line that has Henry Katongole, Bernard Muwanga and Ibrahim Kirya.

Sserunkuma will need to be at his best if he is to beat these defenders and finally the goalkeeper Samson Kirya to find the back of the net.
John Adriko, the Jogoo left back remains support for the game after a nagging knee injury in the 4th minute of the Bright Stars game in Masaka.
Express’ new kid on the block Davis Mayanja, a free passing left footed midfielder will feature in his first derby against another first time league debutant Nicholas Kasozi.
Winger Mike Birungi, Steven Luswata and Juma Ssebaduka are other weapons of destruction for Express.
Meanwhile, on colour SC Villa Jogoo forward Allan Kyambadde, Martin Kizza, George Senkaaba, Alex Kitata and Vitalis Tabu are potent match winners for the 16 time Uganda Premier league winners.
A dice throw between goalkeepers Godwin Bbule and the cross-legged Emmanuel Opio could decide who starts in between the goal posts for Express.
If he passes a later fitness test, SC Villa Jogoo winger Simon Sserunkuma could directly face his former pay masters.
Similarly, stocky albeit tricky winger Steven Bengo, now at Express could face a club that baby sat him.

The Jogoos are currently third on the log with 22 points as Express lingers in the relegation periphery waters with a mere 11 points earned in 12 matches.
FIFA Referee Ali Sabilla Chelengat will handle the center refereeing roles.
Meanwhile, Musa Balikowa Ngobi and Issa Masembe are the first and second assistant referees respectively.
The game will be televised live.
