Tornado Bee Vs Jinja SS

Kyambogo Oval

Tornado Bee paid the price for not taking the game seriously and the defending champions will be playing in Div 2 next season. Their coach Jackson Ogwang bemoaned the unseriousness of his girls who rarely showed up for training but only appeared on match days.

After Pioneer collecting free points off Wanderers last weekend, the fate of Tornado Bee was decided and they will be in Div 2 next season.

Their opponents Jinja SSS are going for the title and are favorites as long as they can avoid defeat. Jinja SSS are on top of the 6 team league and as long as they avoid defeat it wont matter what happens in the game between Olila High and Wanderers.

Tornado Bee can be party crushers if they fail show up for the game, Jinja SSS can get points for the win but they will miss out on valuable bonus points which will put Olila High back in the mix if they can win their game against Wanderers with at least 2 bonus points then title will come down to net run rate.

Jinja SSS will depend on its national team players Stephanie Nampiina, Rita Musamali and ladies captain Kevin Awino.

Jinja SSS lost to Olila High in the final of the ladies T2o finals earlier this season and they hope this doesn’t slip out of their grip. This is the only local title Coach Habib Mugalula is yet to win as his girls have been dominant in the short format of the game also reigning schools cricket week champions.

The ladies league has never been decided on the last day and this will be the first for the ladies. Its shows how far the quality of ladies cricket has come and as they prepare for the global qualifiers these are good signs.
