Damani looked like they would close out an easy win against Challengers but the introduction of Aneef Mohammed in the attack changed the game.
He finished with best match figures of 5-12 claiming the key wicket of Steve Tikolo and with his dismissal Damani had an uphill battle with the tail failing to deal with the bowling trio of Aneef, Irfan Afridi and Henry Ssenyondo.
With 19 runs needed off the final over, only Marlon Samuels and Carols Braithwaite for West Indies were the last to achieve this feat, unfortunately Denis Tabby with his Captain Ghulam Hunzai were unable to pull off the same heist for Damani.
They only managed to get 2 runs off the bowling of Henry Ssenyondo with Ghulam last man out stumped as he tried to charge Ssenyondo.
Earlier in the morning, a relatively weak Challengers side defeated Wanderers by 40 runs on a wet surface in Kyambogo.
Captain Ivan Thawithemwira (25) and Shahzad Kamal (38 not out) got stuck in with a late cameo from David Wabwire helping the team finish on 120/8.
Wanderers without anchor batsman Adonia Waibale and all-rounder Nirva Hathi were never going to chase but they managed a respectable 78 all out with Mukasa Rasheed (34) taking on the Challengers bowling.
The wins for Challengers mean they will finish as the top seed from Group A and they will face the 4th placed team in Group B which is ACC, which is a relatively easy quarterfinal for the defending champions.
Damani will have to settle for second place and will face a tricky Charity side in the quarterfinals.
