City Oilers were a no show in the second half against Inter Clube as they dropped their third straight game at the 2017 FIBA Africa Champions Cup.

The Zone V representative got off to a respectable start with Jimmy Enabu, Stanley Ociiti and Jordin Mayes putting together a 7-2 run before closing out the quarter leading 20-16.

While Oilers started the second quarter with a another 7-2 run, Inter Clube started to step-up their defense as their point guard Gerson Domingos was directing the offense quite well and the Angola side was within a point (32-33) by halftime.

There were several lead changes in before Inter Clube took the lead for good on Domingos’ 3-ball midway the quarter.

From that stage, the Angolan side played a rock solid zone defense that Oilers could not rollover as they were limited to just three field goals the rest of the way.

Domingos scored game high 18 points to pace Inter Clube and efficient center Miguel Kiala added 14 points to go with 14 rebounds.

Ocitti had team 13 points and 8 rebounds for Oilers that had no other player scoring in double figures. Mayes scored 8 points while Enabu and Landry Ndikumana scored 7 points apiece.
