Police FC moved to within four points of log leaders SC Villa despite firing blanks in a goalless draw against Bright Stars.
In a closely contested entertaining game on the Mwererwe turf, both sides had early chances to take the lead but were denied by good goalkeeping.
Joshua Kawadwa forced a good save from Douglas Kisembo with a shot from the edge of the area while at the other end; Hamza Muwonge did well to stop Hood Kaweesa from adding to his goal tally this season.
Norman Ogik also had an opportunity put to waste while Ibrahim Kibumba, starting his first game of the season twice had long range efforts fly over the bar.
In the second half, Fred Kajoba called the first change with Yusuf Bagooth replacing Brian Enzama and Abdallah Mubiru reacted by withdrawing injured Gift Ali for Ben Ocen and also Norman Ogik for Yasin Mugume at the hour mark.
No clear cut chances were created until Nelson Senkatuka who came on for Kawadwa beat Martin Mpuuga for pace and goalie Kisembo as well down the left and his low cross was met by Bagooth whose effort went inches wide with a net at his mercy.
At the other end, Ocen curled the ball wide off the mark after good interplay between man of the match Albert Mugisa and Shakur Makeera.
Kaweesa headed wide off Kibumba cross while Senkatuka had a good chance to win it at the death but a heavy touch allowed Kisembo to collect the ball with easy.
The point takes Police’s tally to 24 points from 14 games while Bright Stars are now 7th with 19 points.
