- City Oilers 71-96 Union Sportive Monastir

Union Sportive Monastir ripped City Oilers apart enroute qualifying for the 2017 FIBA Africa Champions Cup semifinals at Salle Multidisciplinaire de Radès.
The Tunisian side proved to good for the Zone V champions assuming a double digit lead as early as the first quarter and never looked back.
Big man Evariste Shonganya made a couple of quick baskets for Monastir to start the game but Adarius Pegues and Jimmy Enabu (from 3-point range) replied to put Oilers up 5-4.
Shonganya scored in transition and Ocitti replied with a jumper. A pair of free throws from the center put Monastir back in the lead as he continued to put on a one man show in the opening quarter he scored 14 of his team’s 24 points.
With Oilers already trailing by 13 at the start of the second quarter, point guard Christopher Vinales put the game out reach of the Ugandan side with a couple of jumpers followed by a triple.
City Oilers did not know what hit them as Monastir’s lead quickly ballooned to 30 points just over halfway the second quarter.
The lead hoovered above 20 points the rest of the way.
Every USM player scored atleast 2 points and were led by Shonganya who poured in 27 pointsto go with 9 boards. Vinales was 3 rebounds and assists shy of a triple-double, he scored 15 points while Bechir Hadidane scored 13 points.
Jordin Mayes scored team high 20 points to lead Oilers, Robinson Opong added 18 points while Adarius Pegues scored 18 points and grabbed game high 11 rebounds.
Semifinal and Classification Game
In the semifinals, it will a Tunisian affair as Union Sportive Monastir take on Etoile Sportive Radès while City Oilers will play Groupement Sportif des Pétroliers in the classification game.
