- Association Sportive de Salé 97-86 Sport Libolo e Benfica

Morocco’s Association Sportive de Salé will face hosts Etoile Sportive Radès in the final of the 2017 FIBA Africa Champions Cup on Wednesday.
The development follows AS Salé’s 97-86 win over Angola’s Sport Libolo e Benfica on Tuesday night at Salle Multidisciplinaire de Radès.
Power forward Abdelhakim Zouita came out big to carry AS Salé to their first ever final in the premier club competition on the continent at the expense of 2014 winners and last year’s losing finalists Libolo.
Libolo edged the first 23-21 but Salé won the next three periods 22-19, 24-16 and 30-28 to join Radès who ended Union Sportive Monastir’s invincibility at the tournament.
Turning Point
With 4:12 to play in the third quarter and Libolo leading 53-51, Abdelhakim Zouita (29 points) hit a jump shot to tie the game and made a go-ahead lay-up and the Moroccan side did not trail again.
Abderrahim Najah came in handy with 19 points and 12 rebounds while Soufiane Kourdou and Wayne Arnold contributed 17 points apiece.
Pedro Bastos scored team high 18 points for Libolo, Jekel Foster had 16 points, Divaldo Mbunga 15 points and Andre Harris scored 13 points.
