Solomon Walusimbi scored his first home goal this season as Maroons came from behind to draw 1-1 with bottom side UPDF on Tuesday.

The army side came into the game on the back of three successive losses, but it was them who took the lead through Robert Nakyenalire, who converted a penalty in the 32nd minute. The lead was maintained until the 78th minute when Walusimbi headed in the equalizer.

Despite sitting out just one home game this term, and scoring three goals, Walusimbi had not found the net in front of their home fans, but on Tuesday, scored when it mattered most as Maroons avoided defeat.

Asaph Mwebaze’s side have now gone ten games unbeaten, but the fans won’t be delighted as only three wins have been managed in that  period, the last of which came on October 31. The draw means Maroons have now drawn six games in a row.

The result elevates the side to the eighth position, while UPDF remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
