  • U19 Cricket World Cup | Group A
  • New Zealand vs. Kenya – Hagley Oval, Christchurch
  • 12:30am EAT, 17/01/2018

The iconic Hagley Oval will host this contest between hosts New Zealand and Kenya with the home team favorites to win the contest.

The host defeated defending champions West Indies in their opening game while the East Aficans lost to fellow Africans South Africa by 169 runs.

However, coach Jimmy Kamande was unfazed by the loss and he hopes his with a few improvements to their approach play his team can win the game.

We just need to control our first 10 overs both bowling and batting. Middle overs we bowled well but in batting we need to convert the starts to big scores.

New Zealand will have home support to count on and coach Jimmy Kamande says there is no pressure on his boys so they are free to express themselves.

We are under no pressure, it’s even greater experience for the boys . The pressure is on New Zealand not us.

The Kenyan youngsters will play defending champions West Indies in a difficult Group A where they were pitted against 3 test playing nations.

Denis has represented Uganda in international cricket events including the World Cup. He is currently the captain of Wanderers Cricket Club.
