Kampala Old Boys (Kobs) were in destruction mode on Friday evening as they obliterated Impis 90-00 in the Rugby Premiership at Legends.

Kobs were devastating in attack and scored season high 14 tries, 10 of which were converted.

Augustine Kasansula opened scoring for evening with the first try that was easily converted by James Ijongant. Adrian Kasito and Justin Kimono followed suit as Kobs secured a bonus point in the first half.

Sempebwa and Michael Opio both crossed the white chalk as premiership leaders took a 33-00 lead to the halftime break.

On resumption, Kimono took his try tally for the season to 8 and Kobs’ sixth on the day followed by Livingstone Lugya with both converted by Ijongat.

Ian Munyani twice crossed the white with Kasansula’s second try in-between before Musoke, Fahad Matovu and Humphrey Magero joined the try party.

Opio wrapped up the evening for the 12-time champions who took their points tally for the season to 35, seven ahead of second placed Pirates.

Justin Kimono who has played 103 matches for Kobs was recognized before the game with a guard of honour from fellow players and handed a plaque from the club official sponsors.

Saturday Fixtures

There are more fixtures to be played on Saturday, January 20.

Defending champions travel to Entebbe to face Mongers, Rams play host to Rhinos at the Graveyard in Makerere while Legends will be host to Black Pirates against Jinja Hippos as well as Warriors against Buffaloes.
