Reigning Africa Rally Champion Manvir Baryan was announced the Kenya Motorsport personality of the year 2017 at the annual awards ceremony held at Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi.
Baryan edged Eric Bengi and Karan Patel to the coveted award of the night.
Despite finishing sixth overall, Baryan’s incredible performance with two victories in Mombasa and Fly540 Rally earned him the coveted award.
His continental performance in which he secured a maiden ARC title coupled with four wins (in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zambia Rally) further made him standout among other nominees.
Ian Duncan took home the KNRC and Group N champion of the year awards while Karan Patel took home the division one award.
Other award winners include two wheel driver champion Leonard Varese, Nadeem Kana among others.
