KCCA Football Club defeated Tusker 1-0 during their second international friendly match on the Kenyan tour played at the Ruaraka stadium, Nairobi on Monday evening.

Teenager Steven Sserwadda, one of the January recruits was the hero with the lone strike on the day.

The visitors were the dominant side for long spells of the game against Sam Timbe’s coached outfit.

Isaac Kirabira had the first attempt at goal in the 7th minute.

Six minutes later, Brian Umony had a header kiss the woodwork as KCCA intensified their raids.

The reigning Uganda Premier League champions eventually broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when teenager Steven Sserwadda found the back of the net with a clever flick following good interchange of passes involving Allan Okello.

Sserwadda would have doubled the lead on the half hour mark.

At the start of the second half, Innocent Atiku replaced returning striker Brian Umony.

KCCA manager Mike Mutebi called for two more changes on the quarter hour mark.

Right back Salim Kyobe replaced Sserwadda and U-20 Uganda Hippos left back Mustapha Kizza came on for Hassan Musana.

Within the final 10 minutes, Allan Okello, who was a thorn in the flesh of the opposition replaced Lawrence Bukenya.

Another new signing, goalkeeper Tom Ikara was called upon twice in the dying stages of the match to deny the Brewers.

New defender Walter Ochora was also well positioned to clear a goal bound shot.

This was the second build up for KCCA following last Saturday’s 4-2 loss to Gor Mahia at the Afraha stadium in Nakuru.

The eight KCCA players with the national team (Uganda Cranes) in Morocco at CHAN 2018 definitely missed the tour.

Goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan, defenders Timothy Denis Awany and Isaac Muleme, midfielders Ibrahim Sadam Juma, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Paul Mucureezi, Derrick Nsibambi and Muhammed Shaban are all with the Uganda Cranes.
