Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) with the support of the ICC have organised a 10-day residential camp for 25 boys drawn from different regions of the country.
The camp is aimed at equipping the kids with skills in batting, bowling and wicket keeping with the sessions being handled by national coach Steve Tikolo assisted by Ladies national coach Francis Ndege.
The boys are residing in the NCS hostel at Lugogo and will be put through serious drills for the next 10 days with an eye on the next U19 qualifiers due in 2019.
In a statement issued to the media, the CEO of Uganda Cricket Justine Ligyalingi outlined the importance of the academy
Uganda Cricket Association is conducting its first National boys Cricket Academy for the calendar year 2018, consisting of Twenty Five ( 25 ) players drawn from U23 category and scheduled to run from 21st – 31st January 2018 in Kampala (Lugogo).

The players have been drawn from all our major cricketing regions. Players will be able to acquire skills in Batting, bowling, Fielding, and wicket keeping during this Ten (10) days period.
Kampala region has the biggest number of players in the holiday camp with seven players followed by Jinja (6), Fort portal (5) ,Soroti (5) and a one player from Masaka.
