Special moments await special entities in life.

Exactly, BUL Football Club needed a special player as Douglas Owori who struck a late winner against visiting Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) in his first game at the club.

The Jinja based club won 1-0 on the day with Owori’s solitary strike with virtually the last kick of the game.

The former Uganda Martyrs’ University Nkozi center forward composed himself to beat substitute goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga from 12 yards (10.97m).

The successful kick from the penalty spot was converted on the stroke of full time following a foul in the forbidden area on Uganda U-20 winger Hamis Tibita by Patrick Mbowa.

Earlier in the first half, goalkeeper Muwanga had replaced left winger Charles Ssempa, a sacrificial lamb as a result of goalie Alionzi Nafian’s red card.

Center referee Richard Ochom sent off Alionzi following a hand ball outside the goal area after 36 minutes.

For the rest of the game, URA played with 10 men and the home side at times benefited from the numerical advantage granted.

Former league top scorer, Herman Nteza Wasswa, De Boss Kalama, the exciting midfielder Moses Sseruyidde and Godfrey Ssembatya were some of the players who made their debut at URA.

Wasswa was close with powerful header off Brian Majwega’s cross stopped by goalkeeper Paul Mujwapani in the first half.

BUL jumps URA as they settle in 8th place with 21 points from 16 matches.

URA backsides to 9th with the same points (21).

The loss was Paul ‘Latest’ Nkata’s second since the start of his second spell at the tax collectors’ side.

After the end of the game, URA players bitterly protested with the match referee before security intervened.

Defender Willis Otongo was named the Fortebet man of the match for his outstanding contribution to the game.
