
Effective January 2018, a total of 50 Uganda Cranes will be earning Shs. 1M per month for the next financial year until June 2018.
The development has been confirmed by the President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), Moses Magogo.
Magogo was addressing the media during a press conference that was also attended by the Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre.
After His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni hosted the team in Rwakitura late December 2017, he pledged financial support to the federation.

Which players to benefit?:
The composition of the players who will receive these monthly payments shall constitute a total of 50 national team active players. Ten of these are U-20, 15 players U-23 and the rest senior players.
The monthly lists for players will be submitted by the head coach depending on form and discipline.

Magogo also clarified that part of this money will carter for the six months’ salary of head coach Sebastien Desabre, the new Uganda Cranes bus as well as the monies that were used at the 2018 CHAN tournament in Morocco.
The FUFA boss confirmed international friendly matches in March with the finances already secured.
This is the first time that footballers shall be paid monthly after athletes and all gold medalists at international events.
