A total of 48 players are in contention for available 12 slots as team Uganda prepares for the forthcoming 8th Woodball world in Chiangdao city, Thailand.

To this effect, the Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF) has summoned the entire number for national trials as the selection process commences.

Twenty four players per gender were on Tuesday released by John Baptist Kateregga, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the federation.

There will be two trial tournaments with the nearest coming on Sunday, 25th February 2018 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The second and final trial tournament shall be held on 17th March 2018 at St. Joseph’s Technical Institute Kisubi.

The best six players per gender will constitute the national team of 12 players.

Uganda has been at four Woodball World Cup tournaments since 2010 with the support of the Government and the Embassy of China in Uganda.

Lillian Zawedde and Onesmus Atamba won gold in the mixed doubles at the previous edition in Korea, 2016.
