Striker and captain Nelson Senkatuka scored twice for Bright Stars in their 2-1 home win against struggling Express at the Champions Stadium in Mwererwe on Tuesday.

The Uganda Cranes center forward gave Keisuke Honda’s sponsored team the lead on 39 minutes.

Express restored parity through Alfred Leku on the stroke of half time as the two sides returned to the locker-rooms tied one goal apiece.

Senkatuka put the game to bed in the 67th minute.

This was Bright Stars’ first game since their head coach Fred Kajoba departed for the US where he is undergoing a coaching course with Moses Basena at New York Red Bulls.

Bright Stars attained their 5th victory of the season, taking them to 9th on 22 points.

Express suffered their 11th defeat in 18 matches to remain on 15 points.

The Red Eagles are rock bottom since UPDF defeated Police 2-1 at Mandela National Stadium.

Nelson Senkatuka was named the Fortebet man of the match accolade.
