Honda Classic Qualifier: Round 1

Professional golfer Willy Deus Kitata failed to make the cut during the first round of the Honda Classic open qualifier at the 6826 yards par 71 Mayacco Lakes country club in West Palm beach in Florida on Monday.

Kitata, a member of Palm beach Gardens scored 9-over par 80 to finish 112th out of the 138 golfers.
The 2014 Uganda Amateur open winner played alongside Redondo beach’s Jeffery Wells and Galnesville’s Kim Charlie at the 10th tee.
Kitata had 12 par scores on holes 1, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17 and 18.
He had two double bogies on 2 and 14 with four bogies on 3, 7, 8 and 15.
In an interview with Kawowo Sports, acknowledged it was a tall order for him;
After today’s game, I feel I can win again.
I didn’t play well, but good news is my mind was in every shot, good and bad.
I just need to get my shit in order, and then see how far I can go. PGA tour or European tour

TJ Vogel was 9-under to card 64 gross and win the qualifier.
Vogel scored eight birdies on holes 3,4,5,6, 8, 9, 16 and 17.
The other top performers were Andrew Novak and Nathan Lashley who tied at 6-under par 65.
Three players Ben Polland, Hack Jhared and Adam Svensson tied at 5-under par 66 to make the qualification grade as well.
15 golfers did not finish the tourney.
Kitata is a member of Every Ball Counts (EBC) group.
