UPDF’s resurgence in the second half of the league continued with a 2-1 win over stumbling Police FC at Namboole.
Robert Nakyenalire and Sulaiman Majanjalo scored for Steven Bogere’s side in the second half while Ben Ocen got the hosts’ consolation.
Police started well bossing possession but with no real threat and survived two one on one situation thanks to goalie Davis Mutebi heroics.
At the other end, goalie Bashir Sekagya needed to be at his best to deny Ruben Kimera and Ben Ojik.
Seven minutes after recess, a long ball from the visitors half was knocked down by man of the match Fahad Bardiro and the on rushing Nakyenalire first time shot hit the top right corner before settling in the net.
It took ten minutes for the Cops to level thanks to substitute Ben Ocen who dribbled past a forest of legs in the UPDF area and hit the ball into the top of the roof.

From then on, it was all Police with Kimera, debutant Pius Kagwa and Albert Mugisa asking lots of questions.
But that could change five minutes later when another long ball beat Steven Mugisha who gave up the chase but not Bardiro whose cutback in the area was neatly met by Majanjalo whose low shot beat Mutebi to send the army side into frenzy.
Despite piling pressure till the final minute, Abdallah Mubiru’s charges failed to draw level again and have now gone six successive games minus a win.
They remain 6th on the log with 25 points after 18 games while UPDF jump from the base of the 16-team log to 15th with 17 points.
