For starters, this will be the 6th edition of the championship that celebrates the life of Joan Cox, one of the founders for this historic school.

Preparations to have a successful tournament are now underway.

Gayaza High School’s Victoria Kisarare explained about the preparations during the launch of this two days tournament.

The games are set for 24th to 25th of February at the sports complex of Gayaza high school where participants shall compete in three sports events unlike the previous years.

“I’m happy to announce that this year we shall have volleyball, Table Tennis and Lawn Tennis,” noted Kisarale.

On the same occasion, Emojong Gertrude, the communications officer for So Sure sanitary pads revealed that they will sponsor the event by covering all the meals of the day and also donating trophies that shall be won on the same event.

The well intended tournament is meant to promote games and sports that school sees as an essential element in the education process of any child since children are helped to improve their general health and well-being and intra structural potentialities that support their holistic development including academic performance.

David Isabirye is a senior staff writer for Kawowo Sports where he covers most of the major events.
