Orlando Pirates Coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has revealed watching the ‘Black Panther’ movie as one of the inspiration their Soweto derby win.
The Buccaneers washed away their rivals 3-1 on Sunday to keep within touching distance, table leaders Mamelodi Sundowns in the PSL.
“It was a dream finish to the week, where we really took care of all the details,” said Sredojevic. “I want to give credit… I’m here in front of you, but I want you to see my brother Rhulani and other members of the technical team, together with all the players that represented,” he added in a post-match interview.
We worked very hard throughout the week. On Tuesday we went for a team building aspect and watched the ‘Black Panther’ film.
We, as a sports brand, are represented in that historical African film [through the crossbones sign], and it was a special injection of motivation to us to go and prove a point [against Chiefs].
The former Uganda Cranes coach is in his second stint with Pirates who lie second in the PSL four points behind Denis Onyango’s Sundowns.
