Towering center forward Lemponye Tshireletso gave the visiting team the lead just after 10 minutes. Tshireletso’s effort from 30 yards out caught Young African’s goalkeeper Ramadhani Kabwili unawares for the opener.

A minute after the opening quarter an hour, Tshireletso missed doubling the lead when his low drive hit the low post with Kabwili down and beaten.

Young African’s right back Hassan Kessy had a majestic and energetic run on 22 minutes winning the home side their maiden corner of the game.

It was Township Rollers again with the advantage thanks to the industrious display from right winger Sikele Motsholetsi whose pace and mazy runs troubled Michael Gadiel in particular.

On the half hour mark, Obrey Chirwa leveled the game with a superb equalizer before running towards the partisan Simba fans at one section of the gigantic stadium in a mockery celebration.

Towards the end of the opening 45 minutes, the Popa’s right winger was cautioned by FIFA referee Pacifique Ndabihawenimana after a high boot challenge.

Uganda Cranes’ hardworking midfielder Ivan ‘Kojja’ Ntege was introduced for the injured Kaone Vanderwesthuisen on the stroke of half time as the two sides returned to the locker-rooms tied at one goal apiece.

In the second half, the game remained a balanced affair between the two sides.

Ntege rarely put a foot wrong with timely blocks and tackles as well as effective ball distribution to the teammates.

On 51 minutes, the visiting team had a penalty appeal turned down when defender Said Ali appeared to have handled the ball in the forbidden area.

Eight minutes later, Tshireletso missed a free header off a telling delivery from the left by Lemponye Tshireletso.

Young Africans called for the first change of the game on 65 minutes when Emmanuel Martine paved way for the fresh legs of Godfrey Mwashiuya.

Chirwa had Young African’s would be second goal on 67 minutes canceled by the first assistant referee Willy Habimana for off-side.

Juma Mahadhi came on for the weary albeit effective Chirwa with 20 minutes left on the clock.

Ntege’s cross from the right intended for lead forward Joel Mogorosi was blocked by defender Gadiel as the visitors continued to press forward.

Ntege combined with Sikele for the decisive wall pass before the latter easily beat the advancing goalkeeper Kabwili for the second goal on the evening with less than 10 minutes to the game death.
