Gafford Girls Soccer Academy has petitioned the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) over sexual immorality of Crested Cranes coach Faridah Bulega.

Bulega has been accused of engaging in lesbian acts with one of the girls she coaches at the academy.

In a letter addressed to the federation CEO, academy Director Henry Barungi points out that the coach had been indulging in homosexuality with a one Juliet Nabbale.

I hereby bring my complain to you concerning the above reference of Bulega Faridah. It has come to our attention that our well respected national team coach Faridah is indulging sexual lesbian acts with some of the players and one identified is NABBALE JULIET and am happy to tell you that I managed to get some evidence on the matter…,” reads the letter in part.

In the letter dated 6th March 2018, Barungi says Bulega’s behaviour was brought to his attention the club sponsor and wants the federation to take serious action against the coach.

“I received a Complaint Letter from my Club Sponsor who is also a Parent on the concern of lesbianism; this is likely to make our club lose sponsorship because of the coach named above. We have a number of girls who are in religious schools and respected schools like Kibuli SS, Mengo SS, Bishop SS, Mukono, Namilyango SS to mention but a few, if they realize that our club has that behaviour of players they will stop them from playing for their club to avoid them being spoilt.”

“Financial damage has already been caused by coach Faridah where the team is trying to clean its name and the club is also going to expel the player in order not to affect the rest.

“I humbly ask that serious action be taken accordingly onto the coach for the Good of Women Football in Uganda.”

The scandal comes at a time when 2018 African Women Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya Harambee Starlets are around the corner. The two legged clash is scheduled for April 2 and April 10.

Bulega was appointed Crested Cranes head coach in September last year after serving as assistant Majidah Nantanda for a long time.
