” Back in our years, there was no prize money, we played for passion. Today, there are sponsors which is a good thing. It motivates many players. My most memorable Uganda Cup was in 1990. Anything could happen in the Uganda Cup. It was so thrilling,” noted Nkemba, a 7 time league winner and three time Uganda Cup victor with Sports Club Villa Jogoo.
Hamid Juma in his brief speech said;
As a federation, we are very happy with the way the round of 32 has been played and was conducted. Most teams played attacking and attractive football which is the reason why so many goals were scored.
We expect many surprises since this is knock out football. It is getting tighter and tighter per stage. This kind of football has continued to reignite the passion of football fans back to the stadia

The matches will be played on 21st and 22nd March 2018 with the successful clubs progressing to the money bracket.
