Team Uganda set to compete at the IAAF/Alfonso World Half Marathon Championship in Valencia, Spain has been flagged off.

National Council of Sports Assistant General Secretary, David Katende, flagged off the team that will be among the nearly 15000 runners from 86 countries around the globe to compete in the event set for Saturday, March 24.

The team has been training for nearly a month in Kapichorwa and coach Gordon Ahimbisibwe is confident his side has all it takes to bring home the medals.

There are nine Ugandans (five men and four women) on IAAF’s official provisional entry list as per March 21 that will compete in the 21.195 km road race.

The Team

Men: Felix Chemonges, Fred Musobo, Moses Kurong, Alex Mutai and Moses Kibet

Women: Emily Chebet, Doreen Chesang, Viola Chemos and Adha Munguleya.
