The USA University Netball team has confirmed participation in the 2018 Kampala World University Netball Championship due 15th to 21st September 2018.
The team revealed their plans to travel to the Pearl on Wednesday joining over 10,000 participants expected from across the globe.

This will be the 3rd edition of the netball competition after Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) in conjunction with Makerere University won the bid to host the event.
On the launch of the tournament’s website last year, Vice Chancellor Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe highlighted the need for a fundraising drive aimed at constructing a 3,000 seater multi-purpose indoor stadium for the event.
Eight months on, construction has not yet began, however, Makerere Sports and Games Chairman Henry Nsekuye says strides have been taken for “something to be up in time” for the showpiece.
With expected support from the Government of Uganda, the Ministry of Education and Sports, the University needs an estimated UGX.10 billion for the construction of the stadium.
Uganda has previously successfully participated at the Netball World Cup finishing in the top 8. The national team is currently ranked number 7 in the world.
