Nemostars may not have covered their entire budget for the African Club Championship but they will certainly make the March 27 to April 5 event.
The Ugandan league champions (along with KAVC) were confirmed among the 24 teams to play at the 2018 Champions Cup by CAVB a couple of days ago.
And Nemo skipper George Aporu is confident the group he leads will put up a performance at the annual tournament that will be hosted in Cairo, Egypt.
“The team is confident. We have about five players who have been there more than two times and two will be there for the third time and we believe that should act in our favour,” Aporu told Kawowo Sports.
“I must say in the past we have been training for just a month but this time, we have had training since December and the fitness we have matches what’s required at the continent.”
Asked about North African opponents who they have had a tough time against, the reciever-attacker says the team has a lot of belief after getting one in their last outing.
“One of the biggest challenges we have always faced was that whenever we went, we got opposition from the Arabs and some how the team could get jittery but in our last outing, we managed to defeat the Arab who was in our group and from that point the team now believes.”
