International Friendly Match:
- Tanzania 2-0 Democratic Republic of Congo
Tanzania Taifa Stars overcame Democratic Republic of Congo 2-0 during an international friendly match played at the national stadium, Dar es salaam on Tuesday.

Team captain Mbwana Samatta scored the opening goal with less than a quarter an hour of action remaining on the clock.
Moments before the Belgium based star striker with KRC Genk struck, the visitors had a penalty claim turned down by the referee when Benick Afombe appeared to have been fouled by Erasto Nyoni inside the goal area.
Shiza Kichuya ensured the victory with a late 87th minute goal to stamp the win.
The Tanzanians endured a nervy finish with goal line in the game’s closing moments when Needkens Kebano’ shot was denied by Gadiel Michael Mbaga.
The build up was a perfect patch up for the Taifa stars who had days earlier suffered a 4-1 humiliating loss to Algeria.
Tanzania will face Uganda Cranes in Kampala during the next round of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers come September 2018.
