Nemostars completed their Pool A fixtures at the 2018 African Club Championship with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-18) defeat to Kenya Prisons on Saturday.

At the end of the preliminary round, Nemo dropped to a record of 2-3 as their opponents improved their win-loss record to 4-1 and sealed a ticket to the quarter finals.

The Kenyan side nipped the opening set 25-22 as Andrew Okapis charges proved to be a match for their neighbours with accurate serves and quick spikes.

During the second set, the Ugandan league champions led at the second technical time out but could not hold it together as Prisons edged ahead to take a two sets advantage.

The warders were more comfortable in the third set in which they led through to the end.

Meanwhile, KAVC the other Ugandan side at the tournament registered their second win at the annual event with a straight sets (25-19, 28-26, 25-23) victory against Cameroon’s Port.

The two Ugandan side finish fourth in their respective pools with an identical 2-3 record and will play for places 9-16.
