Meanwhile, Paidha Blacka Angels was held by lowly Lira United during a four goal thriller at the Lira Town College play ground.

Bukedea Town Council and Kataka Football Club shared the spoils in a one all stalemate.

In the Rwenzori group, Mbarara based Nyamityobora Football Club continued with the fine run, winning 1-0 on the road to Kira United at the Kira Town Council Play-ground.

Former SC Villa Jogoo and URA defender Musa Docca headed home the crucial goal off Alex “Koma” Komakech’s curling corner in the first half of the well-attended game.

Nyamityobora now has 42 points from 19 matches, 7 points better of second placed Kitara Football Club from Hoima Municipality.

Kitara humbled visiting Simba 4-1 at the Boma play ground in Hoima.

Billy Herbert ‘Counsel’ Alinda struck a brace in the match.

The other goals came from Rogermiller Ahumuza and a rare Derrick Tekkwo strike to claim the maximum points, keeping alive their hopes of securing a direct promotional slot to the Uganda Premier League.

Ntinda United suffered a humiliating 3-2 home loss to Kabale Sharp.

Greater Masaka United overcame visiting Sun City 1-0 at the Masaka Recreational Stadium as the Kireka United against Kansai Plascon encounter at Namboole outside play ground failed to produce any goal.

With the final bend of the season fast approaching, clubs are now more cautious ahead of the final deciding games.

Only three clubs shall be promoted to the top tier league at the end of the season.

The top placed club per group (Elgon and Rwenzori) qualifies directly with the third team determined via a promotional play off.

The second and third placed clubs per groups qualify for the play-off.
