2018 CECAFA U-17 Championship

14th – 29th April 

Host Venues: Urukundo Stadium ( Ngozi), Umuco Stadium (Muyinga), Gitega Stadium (Gitega)

Uganda will be represented by two referees at the forthcoming 2018 CECAFA U-17 championship to be hosted by Burundi between 14th and 28th April 2018.

William “Engineer” Wilberforce Oloya, fresh from handling the AFCON U-20 first leg qualifier between Tanzania and Democratic Republic of Congo is among the seven center referees who will handle the two weeks championship.

The other center referees are; Georges Gatogato  (Burundi), Amanualilh Selase (Ethiopia), Israel Mpaima (Kenya), Sabri Mohamed Fadul  (Sudan), Mohamed Nur Muhdin (Somalia) and Tanzania’s Alfonse Mwandembwa.

Meanwhile, there are eight assistant referees for this tournament.

Among the assistants, Uganda will be represented by Isa Masembe.

The other seven assistant referees include, Yetayew Belachew (Ethiopia), Willy Habimana  (Burundi), Oliver Omondi (Kenya), Omer Hamid Ahmed (Sudan), Mohamed Mkono (Tanzania) as well as the Zanzibar duo of Mbaraka Haule and Hassan Hussein Mao.

The tournament will attract 8 countries namely hosts Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Sudan, Zanzibar and Somalia.

Three stadia; Urukundo in Ngozi, Umuco in Muyinga town and Gitega Stadium are ear marked to host the championship.

Uganda will be base in Ngozi city in group B alongside Tanzania, Sudan and Zanzibar.
