Last season Tornado were in fear of being relegated to Division 3 but managed to survive after getting their act together in their last 3 games.
They were facing newly prompted Budo in Jinja and they were able to pass the test when they over came Budo winning by 153 runs.
Tornado won the toss and decided to bat first setting a dominant total of 249/7 with new recruit Cosmas Kyewuta (56) and captain Brian Adriko (43) the heavy contributors to the total. Former Kampala Pirates bowler and Budo new recruit Patrick Oburu (3/33) starred with the ball of Budo.
The opening bowling duo of Trevor Bukenya (3/30) and Cosmas Kyewuta (5/44) was too much for Budo who were bundled out for only 96 in 18 overs.
The other game in Division 2 between Nile and Wanderers didn’t take place as Nile sent notice that they wouldn’t make it for the game.
Tornado joins ACC as the only teams that have picked up wins in Divison 2 where as SKLPS and Budo have lost their opening encounters.
