Ceylon Lions have clearly turned the page after changing their name from Charity who had a dismal 2017 season barely surviving to stay in Division 1.

The Lions defeated favorites KICC by 37 runs in a rain affected game at Kyambogo last Sunday but a pending board room decision threatens to ruin their hard work over non registration of players.

Ceylon Lions added the experienced Abraham Alema from Challengers plus the stylish Arnold Otwani from Aziz Damani, and Otwani is already paying back some that amount after he put up a man of match performance in the win over KICC.

However heading into the game against Strikers, both sides on a high. Strikers are coming off a big win against their sister club Challengers and the youngsters of Strikers are going for everything.

They added some steel in their batting line up with the acquisition of former Challengers Captain Ivan Thawithemwira and together with Perry Wazombe, Frank Akankwasa, Strikers is a team you don’t want to face right now.

In the game of the weekend, it’s hard to call the winner because both sides have a lot in common with very few things to separate them.

In Lugogo, the win-less sides this season in Premier and KICC will play each other with the latter more desperate for the win.

In their 2 games so far, KICC have failed to score more 150 runs and even their experienced bowling cant save them thus far. KICC have failed to bat despite having lots of runs within the squad and Captain Hanumant Kathkar must be sweating about what he needs to do to inspire his side.

Premier, the Division 2 champions, found the going very tough in their 1st game against Tornado Bee and will be looking to make amends against KICC.

Premier lost most of its Div ision2 winning squad and it’s been hard trying to gel together as a team again.

KICC are favorites on paper but given their last two losses, a determined Premier can snatch a win.
