Kutchi Tigers Vs Aziz Damani – 10:30 am
The last time Kutchi Tigers and Aziz Damani met in a league encounter, Tigers came out victors.
During their unbeaten run in the second round of the 2017 season, they defeated Damani even though it wasn’t enough to stop Damani from winning a league.
Damani were not convincing winners on Day One of the league when they played Strikers but they should be in their element this weekend.
There is too much talent in the Damani team with national team players Henry Ssenyondo, Brian Masaba and Kenneth Waiswa who have been preparing with the senior side for the Division 4 World Cricket League qualifiers the go to men of the side. Emmanuel Issanez missed the opening game against Strikers due to work commitments but he should be available for this game.
Damani suffered a batting collapse against Strikers in their first game with Steve Tikolo, Brian Masaba, Kenneth Waiswa and Saudi Islam failing to put up any notable scores. They will need to be more decisive in their approach this time to make sure Kutchi Tigers isn’t given a chance.
Kutchi Tigers have grown into a stubborn side for the top sides since they got promoted to Division 1 two years ago.
Alpesh Hirani has been able to put to use his minimal resources well and gotten the best out of his small side. They went as many as 15 games unbeaten last year till they lost to KICC in the group stages of the T20 league.
In 2018 they managed to reach the final of the T20 league where they lost to winners Challengers and in their first game of the season they face the defending champions Damani and this encounter at the lakeside oval is the match of the weekend.
