Uganda Hippos (national U-20 team) progressed to the next round of the CAF U-20 qualifiers, where they will play Cameroon in a two legged encounter to determine who plays at the finals in 2019.

After a commanding 5-1 win in Kampala over three weeks ago, Uganda Hippos wrapped up the victory with another 3-0 win during the return leg.

A goal-less opening 45 minutes was lit up with an avalanche of goals in the second stanza of the well attended game at the Juba national stadium, a facility recently warned by CAF to be improved upon.

Pacy Vipers Sports Club forward Steven Desse Mukwala opened up the goal galore with a long range effort that sent the hundreds of the large Ugandan fans in the stadium into ecstasy.

Mukwala then added the second before the magic sweet left footed gem, Allan Okello added the third.

Then, it was done and dusted as Uganda qualified 8-1 on aggregate to book the much treasured first round berth against West African’s Cameroon.

Uganda Hippos head coach Mathias Lule made two changes on the team that won 5-1 at home during the first leg three weeks ago.

Robert Kitabalwa, a left back at St Mary’s S.S Kitende (was spotted during the Wakiso district Copa qualifiers) replaced suspended Mustafa Kizza.

Kataka F.C -cum- Amusi College player Ivan Eyamu started in the slot where Proline’s Joshua Okiror played during the first leg. attackers.
