Two Ugandans, goalkeeper Yasin “Gabis” Mugabi and left back Joseph Benson Ochaya played full time as Lusaka Dynamos overcame Green Buffaloes 1-0 in a Zambia Premier League duel at the Sunset Stadium on Sunday.

Lusaka Dynamos team captain Clatous Chama scored the lone goal of the match as early as the fourth minute. Mwila Phiri is credited to have assisted Chama for the decisive goal.

The home side dominated the early stages of the game and Ochaya would have doubled the advantage in the 9th minute had he optimally utilized Sikombe’s delivery.

Mugabi, making his debut in the Zambian top flight football was alert throughout the game. First, saving Aubrey Chellah on 13 minutes in what seemed like a clear cut goal scoring moment.

Mwila missed inside the goal area on the half hour mark after a decent combination with his captain Chama.

The Buffaloes had one more chance to make amends to put the game even but Friday Samu missed a sitter in the third minute of added time before the teams broke off for the mandatory half time recess.

Upon restart for the second stanza, Lusaka Dynamos called for a double substitution 10 minutes later. Godfrey Chibanga and Conlyde Luchanga replaced Collins Sikombe and Simon Mulenga respectively. Later, Mwila Phiri paved way for Fwayo Tembo with less than seven minutes on the clock.

The visitors ended the game with 10 men after a sending off for Friday Samu in added minutes of the game.

Lusaka Dyanoms thus earned the maximum points, a swift recovery from the 1-0 loss on the road to Kabwe Warriors on  the previous match day six.

Green Buffaloes suffered their first loss of the season in 7 games with the immediate past result ending 2 all with Green Eagles.

Zesco United who won 3-0 at home to visiting Zesco United 3-0 Lumwana Radiants overtakes Green Buffaloes at the league summit whilst Lusaka Dynamos is now 9th with 10 points.

Meanwhile, Buildcon FC, home to Geofrey Sserunkumam Fahad Bayo and Hood Kaweesa, won 2-1 at home to Monze Swallows. Rahim Osumanu scored twice inside the opening 20 minutes of the game.
