Cricket Cranes were on Tuesday morning flagged off for the Division 4 World Cricket League by NCS Assistant General Secretary David Katende.
The Cricket Cranes will seek redemption in Malaysia after a poor Division 3 campaign in Kampala last year which saw the team demoted to Division 4.
The poor performance claimed some casualties with Arthur Kyobe, Lawrence Ssematimba, Jonathan Ssebanja not even considered for selection.
There are six new players in the side; Riaz Shah, Fred Achelam, Stephen Wabwose, Kenneth Waiswa and Simon Ssesazi.
There is also a change in leadership with Roger Mukasa taking over the captaincy from Davis Karashani.
However,the team seems thin on the batting after Shahzad Kamal initially in the side pulled out last minute due to work commitments.
Coach Steve Tikolo will have to make use of what he has got and this gives the new lads to make a name for themselves.
Uganda will take on hosts Malaysia in their opening game and will face Bermuda, Denmark, Vanuatu and Jersey as they compete for the two slots for promotion to Division 3.
The games start on Sunday, April 29 till Saturday, May 5.
