Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) Football Club temporarily eased their relegation worries with a hard fought 1-0 home win against a ten man BUL F.C side at the Bombo Military Stadium on Tuesday.

Left footed Ezikiel Katende scored the lone goal of the evening for the footballing soldiers coached by former Uganda Cranes tricky midfielder Steven Bogere.

Katende struck on the hour mark in a game officiated by former FIFA female referee, Anna Akoyi.

Visiting BUL granted UPDF numerical advantage after losing utility player Fred Agandu who was cautioned twice.

UPDF’s Denis Ssekitoleko and BUL goalkeeper Agonya Atieki was also booked for unsporting character.

The peace keepers’ side has now won and drawn seven games apiece with 12 loses in 26 matches and have accumulated 28 points to ascend to 11th on the 16 team log.

BUL remained with 30 points in 10th place.
