Tanzania Premier League:
- Simba 1-0 Young Africans

Simba Sports Club edged arch rivals Young Africans 1-0 in the famous Dar es Salaam derby in the Tanzania Premier League before a fully packed Benjamini Mkapa National stadium on Sunday.
Erasto Nyoni scored the lone strike of the day in the 38th minute of the highly anticipated duel.

Before the battle, the whole coastal city of Dar es Salaam cut across red (traditional colour of Simba) and Yanga’s yellow-cum-green.

By the close of business, red had conquered in a match whose rivalry dates as far back as Tanzanian football history.
Uganda Cranes prolific striker Emmanuel Arnold Okwi was part of the Simba team and largely troubled the Yanga backline.
However, his compatriot Murushid Jjuuko was not even among the unused substitutes.

Rwanda Amavubi Stars captain Harunah Niyonzima missed the game because of the sudden death of the sister, Hawa, two days to the match.

The win was so important to Simba that they are now on 62 points, 14 ahead of Yanga in the second place.
