  • Uganda 249-5 (50 overs)  R Mukasa 97, HB Kayondo 55, Riazat Ali Shah 33; C Outerbridge 2-46 beat Bermuda 60 (21.4 overs)  Mohammed Irfan 6-23, F Nsubuga 2-27 by 189 runs.

Bermuda ran into a a determined Cricket Cranes side losing by a big 189 runs in a one sided contest.

Uganda made 2 changes to the side that lost to Malaysia with Kenneth Waiswa, Frank Nsubuga coming in the side in the place of Bilal Hassan and Charles Waiswa.

Roger won the toss and chose to bat 1st a decision he was able himself leading from the front with a brilliant 97. He found an able partner in Ham Kayondo (55) as the pair put on a 137 run partnership. There was some late fireworks from Irfan Afridi (25) and Riazat Shah (33) with the cricket cranes finishing on 249/5.

The chase was down to only one man Irfan Afridi as he dazzled the Bermuda batsmen with his mysterious bowling picking a career best 6/23 with 4 maidens in his 10 overs. His partner in destruction was the evergreen Frank Nsubuga who picked 2/27 in 10 overs as Bermuda was rattled for 60 all out.

The win comes as a morale boaster for the Cricket Cranes who gain some momentum ahead of their game against Vanuatu on Wednesday.

The team takes a break tomorrow before action resumes on Wednesday. Hosts Malaysia and European Champions Denmark are well ahead of the rest of the pack but the Cricket Cranes are still in touching distance of the two.
