- KICC 134/9 in 24 overs (Davis Karashani 35 (36), Eishan Sohaib 23 (14) and Davis Karashani 5/16 in 5 overs) beat Tornado Bee CC 105/10 in 22.4 overs (Abdallah Lubega 27 (32), David Musoke 24 (40), Mitch Horrocks 3/25 in 5 overs, and Abdallah Lubega 2/19 in 5 overs) by 19 runs.
Perhaps Tornado Bee needed Roger Mukasa more than Uganda needed him on Sunday as former Cricket Cranes captain Davis Karashani (5/16) tore through the frail Tornado Bee line-up to give his side a 19 run win at the University Oval in Kyambogo.
KICC won the toss and batted first scoring a modest 134 with Davis Karashani (34) and Eishan Sohaib (23) in the rain reduced encounter. On the spin friendly wicket Mitch Horrocks (3/25) and Abdallah Lubega (2/19) were the stand out bowlers were for Tornado Bee.
Needing just over five and over for the win, Tornado Bee huffed and puffed but fell short by 19 runs with Davis Karashani taking his season tally of wickets to 14 in just 4 games.
Tornado Bee were without talisman Roger Mukasa and their best player last season Deus Muhumuza and the sooner they can have them back the quickly they can get their campaign back on the rail.
The win for KICC gives them 3 wins in the season but puts some brakes on Tornado Bees title charge but that is just their first loss of the season.
- Premier CC 133/10 in 34.4 overs (Peter Kituku 38 (65), Calvin Watuwa 21 (25), Henish Parmar 1/23 in 4.5 overs) lost to Kutchi Tigers CC 134/3 in 22.5 overs (Nanji Pindoriya 52 (57), Aezaz Kothariya 46 (48), Nanji Pindoriya 2/18 in 5.4 overs, Kanti Vekariya 3/22 in 8 overs) by 7 wickets
At the lakeside oval in Entebbe, the soul searching continues for Premier who were defeated by 7 wickets by an angry Kutchi Tigers.
The Tigers had been defeated by 5 wickets the previous weekend by defending champions Aziz Damani at the same ground but Alpesh Hirani and his side were in no mood for friendship as they were to separate men from boys with an emphatic win.
Premier has struggled with the bat in the league so far there was no change as they collapsed to 133 all out. Even the heroics of Peter Kituku (38) and Calvin Watuwa (25) couldn’t help them post a bigger total.
Man of Match Nanji Pindoriya (52) scored a brisky half century to give no hope to Premier any chance of making the game a contest.
The win was the first for Kutchi but a third defeat for Premier who need to quickly need to find their footing before they run out of games.
