Every time the FIFA World Cup comes around, no one wants to be left out.
And in a bid to ensure that many Ugandans don’t miss the biggest sporting event, Kwese Free Sports (KFS) has partnered with Buganda Broadcasting Services (BBS) to bring the 2018 World Cup to people’s living rooms.
The partnership will see both KFS and BBS broadcast the 2018 World Cup that will be hosted in Russia from June 14 to July 15.
The partnership was revealed to the media on Wednesday, May 9 during a press conference at Bulange attended by Buganda Kingdom Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga.
“This is a great milestone. I’m very sure this partnership is going to bear the best fruits possible and as Buganda, we pledge our support to Kwese because we will always support those who also support us,” Mayiga said.

BBS ‘Terefayina’ reportedly paid up to Shs1.6 billion to secure these rights that will see them broadcast 32 World Cup games, including the semis and finals.
“We are proud to partner with the Buganda Kingdom to give Ugandan audiences yet another platform to enjoy the much anticipated games. We value this so much and are going to make sure that the audience enjoy these games to the fullest,’’ said Kwese TV country manager Herbert Mucunguzi who expressed his delight to have met the Kingdom Prime Minister.

The presser was also attended by BBS’ Marketing and Sales Manager Alicia Namatovu as well as Buganda Sports Minister Owek. Henry Ssekabembe, Econet Media Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Collins Mugume and KFS GM, Ben Mwine.
