Exciting left footed winger Allan “Dancing Rasta” Kateregga is glad for the spirited performance for Uganda Cranes in the 2-0 away win in Maseru against Lesotho.
I am glad that I was named on the team and really took up the opportunity with both my hands. I was mentally prepared and physically ready because all along, I knew I would take part in the game any time.
Kateregga was was one of the three changes that head coach Sebastien Desabre rang as he named the starting team from the one which overcame Lesotho 3-0 in Kampala last Saturday.
The other two included; Patrick Henry Kaddu replacing Edrisa Lubega at the fore front of the attack and Iguma returning to central midfield for Moses Waiswa as defender Murushid Jjuuko took over at center back once again after serving his suspension
The Cape Town City player staged a splendid first half with a hand in the first goal that Faruku Miya fired into the net from 25 yards.
In fact, he would have scored a goal of his own but a goal line clearence by Mabuti Potloane denied the hard working skilled dread locked player a maiden goal in national team colours.
He was later replaced by Isaac Muleme in the second half as the team switched tactics to preserve the lead.
Kateregga eyes more great performances for club and country;
I want to thank the rest of the teammates and technical team as well as the federation for planning. This has been really great.
The Uganda Cranes team depart Avani Maseru Hotel for Entebbe via the same Chartered flight used to travel when going to Lesotho.
