Management of the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole has confirmed that the facility is in perfect shape to host the climax of the 2018 Airtel Buganda Masaza football tournament on Saturday, 27th October 2018.

The stadium named after Africa’s legendary leader, Nelson Mandela will for the fourth year running host the climax of the tournament arguably regarded as the biggest football championship on the land at the moment.

Addressing journalists during the pre-event press conference at the Namboole boardroom, the stadium manager Jamil Ssewanyana confirmed that indeed they are ready to host over 40,000 expected guests.

Namboole Stadium is ready to host 2018 Airtel Masaza football final. This is the fourth time in a row that the Masaza final is being played here. We warmly welcome the Kabaka and all his subjects who will come to watch the match. There is enough security and man power to handle the numbers. The playing turf is in the best shape and we expect a good game

For starters, Buwekula takes on Busujju in the early kick off game at 12:00 PM that will be graced by the Katikiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga as chief guest.

At 3:00 PM, the final game between Buddu and Ssingo will kick off with Kabaka Mutebi II as the chief guest.

According to the Buganda Kingdom minister of Sports, Leisure and Recreation, Owek. Henry Ssekabembe Kiberu, the local organizing committee has worked around the clock to ensure the best preparations for a befitting climax.

Gomba Ssaza team is the tournament defending champion and have won the most of number of titles (four) since 2004.
