Kitara Football Club finally worked out for their first season win in the 2018/19 Star Times FUFA Big League on Thursday, 22nd November 2018.

The Hoima based club outwitted Water 2-0 at the Muteesa II Wankulukuku Stadium before a lively crowd.

Moments after missing a penalty through striker Alex “Benzema” Kitata, the visitors made quick amends and found the breakthrough when Mike Benon Baluku tormented his former club with the opener on 20 minutes.

Baluku looped the ball over the advancing goalkeeper Aggrey Kiligola from an acute angle after being played through by former Express captain David Ndihabwe.

They doubled their lead through a former SC Villa striker George Ssenkaaba with a stunning 40 yards strike that goalie Kiligola hesitated to stop before kissing the roof of the net.

This was the first win for last season’s losers in the promotional final at Lugogo to Paidha Black Angels.

Kitara’s Docker Magara continued with the care taker role as the club’s head coach Samuel Kawalya watched from the distance alongside other coaches as Wasswa Bbosa and Eric Ndifuna.

Meanwhile, Ntinda also earned their first win in four matches after downing Kira United 1-0 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Vincent Lukwago was the hero with a quickly taken goal as early as the third minute.

New comers Kiboga Young and Kansai Plascon played to a one all draw Bamusuuta play ground in Kiboga.

Former Masavu and Ntinda United striker Robert Sentongo Junior put Kansai Plascon in the lead after 47 minutes.

Peter Romelu replied for Kiboga Young in the 65th minute in the same currency.

Masind based Dove who are coached by Mark Twinamatisko recovered from a two-goal deficit to share a point with ten-man Kireka United in a two all draw.

Kabale Sharp overcame Bumate United 1-0 at the Christ High school play-ground in Bundibugyo.

Meawnhile, in the Elgon group, Wakiso Giants Football Club edged Bukedea Town Council 1-0 at the Emokori play-ground.

Wakiso Giant’s only goal was scored by Daff Luboobi in the 25th minute.

Bukedea Town Council dearly missed the services of their former head coach Bashir “Bassey” Kalungi.

Wakiso Giants now leads the Elgon group with 8 points after two draws and wins apiece.

UPDF defeated Jinja Municipal Council (JMC) Hippos 2-1 with Amos Muwonge and SydneySsenyonga on target for Steven Bogere’s coached side.

Kataka and Kyetume shared the spoils in a foul goal stalemate at the CRO San Siro stadiumin Mbale.

Nasur Nandala and Jacob Okuwa netted the goals for Kataka.

The Arua derby between Doves All Stars and Nebbi Central ended goal-less at the Green Light Stadium, Arua.

The Big league will return on Saturday, 24th November 2018 as Amuka Bright Stars hosts Light S.S.S at the Lira P7 Play-ground, Lira.
