Raja Casablanca 3-0 AS Vita

Raja Casablanca seized advantage in the Caf Confederation Cup finals with a comfortable 3-0 win over visitors AS Vita of DR Congo in the first leg.

Soufiane Rahimi was the chief tormentor for the DR Congo side scoring twice on the day before Mahmoud Benhalib sealed the win with a penalty later on.

Rahimi put the hosts in the lead two minutes after the break when slotted home from Benhalib back heeled pass to send the crowd into cheers.

He got his and the club’s second on the 61st minute with a long range effort that beat the visitors’ goalie to extend the lead.

It took just two minutes for a third goal to come thanks to a foul by Yannick Litombo Bangala in the area that allowed Benhalib to stab home from 12 yards with AS Vita losing Litombo to a red card.

That was the forward’s a dozen goals in the competition this season and leads the goal scoring charts.

AS Vita will need to score at least three times in seven days from now if they are to shock Raja who look destined to win the trophy come December 2.
