
2018 Entebbe Parents Marathon:
Winners:
5 KM: Martha Nabugosiri (Women) & Edison Katumba (Men)
10 KM: Caroline Draziku (Women) & Martin Sokoria (Men)
The first ever Entebbe Parents Secondary School Marathon held on Sunday, 2ndDecember 2018 in Entebbe Municipality (Division A) ended with ultimate success.
At least 250 runners physically took part in the 5 and 10 KM races on the morning.

By 7 AM, alarge fraction of the participants had gathered at Entebbe Works play ground asthey stretched their bodies, a limbering drill ahead of the grueling endeavor of the hilly route.
As the organizers continued with the last-minute registration of late runners, the route stewards, police and ambulance van were put in place prior to the event to ensure a safe run.
Chief runner legislator Medard Lubega Ssegona delegated the Wakiso Vice chairperson Betty Naluyima for the task.

Present students and staff at the school also tagged “Ewakisiriko”,well-wishers as well as the alumni all joined hands in the noble cause of raising funds to uplift the existing library and science laboratory.
The two races progressed with success with no accident incident reported.
Martha Nabugosiri and Edison Katumba excelled in the 5KM women and men races respectively.

Old students Martin Sokoria and Caroline Draziku were the best in the male and female 10 KM races respectively.
The mayor of Entebbe Municipality Vincent Kayanja De Paul also took part in the 10 KM race.

In her speech, the stand in chief guest Naluyima congratulated all the participants for the great spirit of participating.
“It is a big honour that the run took place. Please continue with the spirit” Naluyima stated.

Entebbe Parents S.S Headmistress Hajjati Aisha Doka lauded all the individual, team and company sponsors for the collective effort of supporting the noble cause.
Over Shs 10M was collected in cash and an unconfirmed amount still remains in pledges.
Entebbe Parents S.S is one of the best performing sports-oriented schools with Entebbe Municipality.


The school is outspoken in athletics, football, netball and volleyball.
Some of theoutstanding former sportsmen produced from the school include Meddie Kagere (now playing for the Rwanda national footballteam), Ethiopian based goalkeeper Robert Odongkara (Uganda Cranes) Sunday Mukiibi, Jackson Musoni, netball goal-shooter Caroline Draziku among others.
