Uganda Premier League:
Match Day 9 Results:
Ndejje University 0-0 Kirinya-Jinja S.S
URA 0-0 Tooro United
There was drama during the half time break of Ndejje University’s goal-less Uganda Premier League home draw with visitors Kirinya-Jinja Secondary School at the Arena of Visions stadium on Tuesday.
The home team head coach Raymond Komakech, rather than head to the dressing rooms for the mandatory half time pep talk with the players opted to attack a section of home fans who were verbally throwing insults to him during the opening 45 minutes.

Two police officers and a volleyball coach Johnson Kawenyera rushed in to salvage the situation as they refrained a visibly angry Komackech from the wrath of the fans who are demanding consistent positive results.
During the game proper played on a water soaked playing surface following the earlier rains in the day, either side was culprit of missed goal scoring opportunities.
Sam Matovu, Buden Mujahid, Anwar Ntege and striker Noel Nasasira, on loan from KCCA troubled the visitors’ backline that had Uganda Cranes defender Isaac Isinde, right back Antony Mayanja, Isma Kawawulo (left back), Douglas Muganga and the goalkeeper cum captain Emmanuel Rubangakene.
Kirinya-Jinja S.S’ Faizal Muwawu missed a first half free header, Fred Amaku shot wide from close range and Joel Madondo was culprit of two goal scoring chances.

In the second stanza of the game, either side changed strategy.
Well aware that they could at least pick a point from the game, the two clubs approached the game cautiously.
The home side christened as the Lions introduced Roland Ssekubomba for injured towering defender Stephen Akena, holding midfielder Simon Ngore replaced Kalama and forward Francis Onekalit, returning after a red card away to BUL took over Anwar Ntege’s place.
Ntege had moments earlier being booked for playing the ball after FUFA Referee Peter Tuyramureemba had already blown the whistle.
Onekalit, a former St Joseph Layibi and St Mary’s Kitende striker who also played at Vipers missed a golden opportunity to wrap up the game deep in injury time when he ably side stepped Mayanja but shot the side netting with his left foot.
Kirinya Jinja S.S technical team led by Charles Ayiekoh Lukula called off midfielder David Bagoole, Jeromy Kirya and forward Fred Amakufor Vincent Zziwa, Joseph Opolot and Dan “Papa” Ssewava respectively.

Although he was moments later booked for unsporting conduct, Opolot was impactful.
Madondo, the current league top scorer with six goals missed two chances to bury the game, failing to beat former Uganda U-17 goalkeeper Erick Kibowa from close range and from a free-kick.
By the close of business, each of the clubs in contention had settled for at least a point.
This was the first home draw for newly promoted Ndejje University, earning their a point to elevate to 7 points from 9 matches although they remain 13th on the 16 team log.
Kirinya Jinja S.S played for their 5th stalemate of the season, two shy away from draw masters URA who were held by Tooro United at Namboole Stadium on the same day.
The Jinja based side remains 10th with 11 points off 9 matches.

Reactions:
We played for a draw but I am not happy with the performance. We could have won the game if we were clinical enough. Anyway, a point earned was good enough going forward for the next matches ahead.
Raymond Komakech, headcoach Ndejje University FC
It was a good game although I think we could have scored twoor more goals from the chances created. The problem with the team is attitude whenever we are facing mid-table clubs. We need to change this mentality.
Charles Ayiekoh Lukula, head coach Kirinya-Jinja S.S Football Club
